BALMAIN HAIR has its new World Champions!

The month of March 2008 will be one of the important dates for professional extension industry to remember - it is the month in which the hairdresser’s industry was enriched with two new World Champions for extensions, one in the seniors' and one in the juniors' section, standing out of a very international group of highly skilled competitors, each of whom had successfully passed their national selections to compete in the World Championship of Beauty.

Like every two years, the World Hairdressers' Organization (Organisation Mondiale Coiffure) carried out the most prestigious event the beauty trade has to offer: the World Championship of Beauty. After Moscow 2006, the World Championship took place this time at the McCormick Place in Chicago, USA, in connection with the renowned America's Beauty Show.

Competitors from over 50 countries were present in the 29 hair, esthetics and nails competition tests, all striving for the gold and the coveted title of the World Champion.

BALMAIN HAIR is the official hair extension sponsor of OMC and it was the second time that hair extension competitions were carried out in an OMC World Championship.

An impressing total of 19 competitors took part in both seniors' and juniors' tests, coming from Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Ireland, Latvia, Norway, Russia, Taiwan and the USA. The official rules of the OMC competition states that every competitor is obliged to use BALMAIN HAIR Extensions. Within 90 minutes of intense work, the competitors showed to both jurors and an audience of several hundred people their creativity and beauty on the finished models (seniors) and mannequin heads (juniors). Proving that with the usage of extensions miracles can be achieved in a very short time.
